The ‘Missing’ Link

The North East Link is the missing link that will finally connect Melbourne’s freeway network between the Metropolitan Ring Road and the Eastern Freeway or EastLink and I was pleased to be able to speak in Parliament about it this week.

It is vitally important to the residents of Menzies. Each day, major roads such as Bulleen-Templestowe Road, Manningham Road, Fitzsimmons Lane, and Warrandyte Road, especially the crossings of the Yarra River, are congested.

It is pleasing therefore that the four possible routes for the North East Link have been released.

The four options are a link from Greensborough Road to Bulleen Road; possible links to EastLink at Ringwood; and a longer outer ring road.

Details of the possible routes, as well as public consultation dates, can be found at:

I encourage residents of Menzies to examine the possible routes and have their say about their preferences.
