Problem gamblers need help and support, not drugs
Media Release— 2:46 pm, Wednesday, 21 December 2011
The Greens suggestion that anti-addiction drugs could be used to assist problems gamblers is the latest demonstration of just how crazy and out of touch Bob Brown and his nanny-state cheer squad are.
The Greens should adopt the Coalition’s approach and actually undertake a comprehensive policy development process.
We are interested in tangible policy outcomes, real solutions to real issues, not hair-brain ideas that mask a totalitarian approach to government.
The only people who might need some medication are the conga-line of Greens parliamentarians who are espousing these bizarre ideas.
Now, only one question remains. How long will it take Bob Brown to ensure this radical policy is adopted by his political partner, the weak and incompetent Labor government?
