Liberal MP Kevin Andrews and Labor MP Chris Hayes, who are both retiring from parliament, have looked back on their political careers.
Mr Andrews said he is most proud of his achievements in his role as defence minister under former Prime Minister Tony Abbott.
“There was a whole range of things, including discussions with, for example, Japan, India and the US, which were about revitalising, which has subsequently occurred, the Quad arrangements,” he told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
He said while it “may seem like a long time ago”, subsequent governments have “been able to build upon” the measures.
“And of course, we now know just how important it is because, as President Zelensky reminded us … we live in a very different world to what we did, even five years ago.”
