Volunteering alive in Menzies
Media Release – 25 May 2015
Last Friday the Hon. Kevin Andrews MP, Federal Member for Menzies, visited St. Kevin’s Primary School in Lower Templestowe.
The Minister spoke about the importance of the Anzac Centenary commemorations in the life of our Nation.
“The Anzac Centenary is not just about commemorating events of 100 years ago, but of the sacrifice and service of our defence forces since,” Mr Andrews said.
The Minister visited the school’s recent garden project, which aims to create a vegetable garden for the purpose of growing vegetables and then giving these vegetables to Doncare.
“A project such as this is a clear sign of the volunteering spirit of our local community, who seek to help one another serve the people of Menzies,” Mr Andrew said.
“I commend St Kevin’s Primary School on such an initiative and I wish them and Doncare all the best in their cooperation.”
