Friendship Grants

I was delighted to attend the launch of the new Australian Aid Friendship Grants.

These grants will be made to community organisations that undertake projects in the Indo-Pacific region.

Already many individuals and organisations have practical programs of aid. Many doctors and other health professionals for example, regularly volunteer their services to third world communities. Many local congregations support practical aid programs in our region.

On a larger scale, Rotary Clubs throughout the world have driven the global quest to eradicate polio.

Organisations can apply for a grant of $30,000 to $60,000. As part of the application, Australian Community Organisations will be required to match funding at a minimum ratio of $1 to $5 in Friendship Grants.
